I've never seen the point in nova gas it really never gets a kill and works crapper than a flahbang thus why I use flashbang

If you chuck a nova gas in group of enemies and they are looking directly at you it will give you a chance to run away or get a few easy kills because whilst your in nova gas it sorta works as a flashbang in that your movements are dramatically slowed and its harder to see aswell Smile
